Proofing and Printing and Production, oh my!

Hello everyone,

I hope you've all had a good summer!  It's been a hot one, here, in New York City.  Thank goodness for ice cold treats like this shaved snow dessert (it looks like a mini moss mountain, doesn't it?) while we've been working on proofing Little Moss, Big Tree.

Proofs have been printed and we'll be sending the final files to the printers this coming week!  

We will be starting the production of the stickers, postcards, bookplates, digital and giclee prints, and pins this month!  The BackerKit surveys will be sent out in two weeks so that there will be as few changes to addresses as possible.  Everything is running on schedule for the December delivery and we can hardly wait for everyone to receive their rewards!  Thank you all again for your support and good wishes!  We are very excited that everything is finally coming together!

There are moments that will always stay with me: the day I graduated, the births of my nephew and niece (featured at the end of the Kickstarter video), and my wedding day (my husband wrote the music for the video). Now, this moment—my first Kickstarter and a mighty successful one at that—has joined the ranks. Thank you for being a part of it. Thank you for making it happen. Thank you for your support, your kind wishes, and your beautiful messages. Thank you for taking a chance on this project, which has been at the helm of my and Mariya’s thoughts and efforts for the past two years. As a special treat for all backers from the book tier up, we have decided to make BOTH pin options available! This bonus was made possible by blowing past all our stretch goals to close at $15,355 with 518 backers! We will keep you all updated on the project’s progress toward publication and distribution. Please note that if you want to get your book(s) by December, you must fill out your BackerKit forms by Oct 31 at the very latest. We will notify you when those forms are ready to be filled out. Hi everyone,

Mariya's here :)

It was so amazing to wake up yesterday and see that the Kickstarter had reached over 12k and 400 backers. Thank you so much for all your love and support in bringing this project to life!

Also, the hard enamel pin stretch goal was unlocked last week when we reached 10k. We took a little extra time in designing the pins to make sure they were perfect for you guys, but we need your help!

M. Yap-Stewart and I can't decide on which one we love the best. Which one is your favorite? Owl pin or Leaf and Moss pin?

Please vote on which one you want to be mailed with all of the book reward tiers. To do that, make sure to leave a comment either on this update or on the main Kickstarter comment thread. Once the Kickstarter ends, we'll count up the comments and announce which pin won.

Please note, that the hard enamel pins are secured with a clutch, which can make them a chocking hazard for children.

Hello everyone,

Mariya here. I am trying to hard not to spam you with updates, but awesome things are happening!

Since the last update we have smashed not one, but TWO stretch goals. And now you will have extra options to pick your rewards from.

We're getting closer and closer to our 10k tier in which you'll get to pick a design to be made into a custom hard enamel pin. I'm working in the background to get those choices ready for you.

2nd Stretch Goal Smashed!

Hi everyone,

Mariya, the illustrator of Little Moss, Big Tree, is here. What an amazing present it is for our Kickstarter to get funded and now hit its second stretch goal over my birthday weekend! Thank you again so much for all your love and support.

I also want to thank everyone who stopped by my booth at Comicpalooza in Houston this weekend. It was incredible to see people gravitating to the work all the way from the opposite isle, taking a close look at all the originals and book dummy, and getting excited. I loved watching little ones flip through the first sketches and then spot the difference in the final artwork.
